About the Authors - Gee Family

Cindy Gee and Gus Gee are the Wisconsin‑based spousal team behind Boar and Family Books. Cindy, formerly an Enrichment Director at a nursing facility, and Gus, an Accountant who retired early, have shared many adventures together—including team‑driving a semi‑truck across the United States and Canada.

In 2023, they decided to bring the love of their family to life through storytelling. Cindy discovered her passion for illustration by drawing straight from the heart, creating the gentle, hand‑drawn style that defines the Gee family of characters. Gus, inspired by cherished memories and stories from years past, writes the tales that shape their picture book series—stories rooted in real family moments, kindness, and community.

 

​The first five books are based on true events and illuminate how their family was formed. The series continues to grow through heartfelt storytelling and uniquely hand‑drawn illustrations. Together, Cindy and Gus craft quiet, comforting books meant to be shared between young and old, encouraging bonding, laughter, and the joy of reading. Their work has earned 'Reader’s Favorite' recognition.
